Your Guide To Becoming An Officer With SLPD

Make Sure You Qualify:
-Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
-Obtain equivalent work experience, other education, or training OR complete 60 (semester) college units.
-Be 20.5 years or older to attend a POST Basic Police Academy.
-Possess and maintain a valid class “C” California driver’s license.
-Ensure your record is free from any felony convictions or any convictions barring you from legally possessing a firearm.
-Be in good physical condition with weight in proportion to height. Ensure your vision and physical condition meet established POST medical standards.
